Picking a publisher and going "everything they do is bad" is just fucking shitty (and really dumb when you can't differentiate dev and pub).
It's nice to agree with people but please pay attention, if this was about a publisher people had heard of, that kind of thing wouldn't pass.

The thing that REALLY annoys me though is when they get into the publisher's catalog. And yeah, that publisher develops a lot of similar looking cozified job games, but they also publish a lot of games from other devs, that the author is completely fine throwing under the bus.

It's just too obvious at this point. (www.bloomberg.com/news/article...)
He even says Indy sold better on PS5, this was never a game issue. People just buy the consoles they want to own and this comes down to marketing. For that, exclusives matter way less than ads or what console your friends have.

Oh okay. I guess that makes sense.
Delvolver is being ✨ PUNK ✨ again and are doing their counter event to Next Fest (while still having games in NF to try and get more people in)

I think games in NF should have the NF banner overriding any other one honestly, this seems like an exploit.

IGF is cool though it's getting less and less coverage each year so I guess it's already in everyone's mute list, and also asking for people to go to the US (or find someone willing to do it for you in 2 weeks) in 2025 is insane

Someone on the ThinkyGames Discord made a thinky version, so:

I may have... overstepped
(that's a 56h playthrough)

I also tried keeping things diverse but got bored before finishing 😌

same thing

Relevant:
It's easy to look at games like Edith Finch or Outer Wilds in hindsight and say Annapurna games have great coverage, but then you get Skin Deep with 14 reviews on Open Critic. "too many games" isn't the problem here. It had basically no coverage at all during dev, even with Annapurna.

Fuck this specific challenge in Baby Steps, I *really* hope it's not a preview of what's coming because this was just bad.

Toutes les reviews négatives de Lego Party pour l'instant se plaignent qu'il n'y ait pas de multi en ligne public (en appelant ça matchmaking forcément), donc qu'il faut des amis pour y jouer en multi, c'est tellement drole

Incredible stuff
(and again, way more difficult than anything in Getting Over It)

This is so freaking funny. I get that it's not for everyone, but basically complaining that the secondary objectives give no XP or loot is such a self own.

And saying it's just for the memes???
Don't pay attention to all those speedrunners, they're just wasting thousands of hours for the memes.

The Moonshot Games website is one of those 😏

The list of "values" is incredible. You can definitely guess the kind of games they'd make

Did you guess hero shooter with space battles? because if so, you win. (steam page still not saying how many people can play the game)

I wish I cared about uninteresting Ubisoft mapgames in the first place so that I could decide to ignore Ghost of Yotei. Same for bad prestige TV wannabes, so that I could decide to not get a PS5.

Anyways, fucking cowards

It funny but the more interesting thing for me is that Sega is, afaik, the first publisher to say early unlock instead of co-opting "early access" to talk about playing the game a couple days early when you pay more / pre order
So yeah, respect, and fuck every other publisher 😇

Yeah it's messed up. They even call them button and triggers.

Fun Silksong consequence: yesterday was the first time* <1000 people (across all platforms) played the Spelunky 2 daily.

*day of release had 56 players, and one day in august 2023 servers had issues or something, and only 960 dailies were recorded instead of the usual-at-the-time ~1300

I've been saying this since that day they all announced their Disco Elysium successor at the same time 😩
