Climate change def creates uncertainty for agriculture. I think gov investment to support transition is good, but I am always skeptical that when you peel back the covers of many programs, you find lobbyists who weaseled gov money under guise of "sustainable" when it isn't. Hope not this time.

Change is hard - I am not a commercial farmer, but I have always tilled. A better practice for soil management is to use a seed drill to limit erosion. A new one for a smallish farm is 10-20K. Farming is a low margin/high risk business to start with, no room for err. This is just one small example.

It has always baffled me to see people do this... the same people who then add fertilizer to their lawn, and then lime because it became too acidic. I have many trees around my lawn, I mulch the leaves with my mower, and in 21 years have never had to add anything to my grass.

I like Bluesky because most of the riffraff are elsewhere, so my block list is very small. Mostly it is the people who blame the current political situation on those who were opposed to genocide. If you can't demand better of your politicians of any stripe, you have no democracy.

I'm in too! I'm excited to see if it is like Cuba - a beautiful place to vacation not just for what it has, but even for what it doesn't have 😉

If you've never seen Fort Wokism, it looks like this. Guarded by an army of Care Bears who will stick their bellies out at you for even the slightest missstep.

It is the powerful people that are the problem I'm afraid. And the weird thing is that they aren't saving themselves, they racing into a history lesson they didn't learn from. Oligarchies have never ended with the rich and powerful living happily ever after. They end quickly and brutally. Tick tock.

It was a great piece - one of many from genius works by Bruce MacKinnon, my favourite cartoonist.

Those shoes are at the bottom of the Mediterranean now, and the shooter is taking a break before he goes back to shooting unarmed children lining up for food.

Life long advocate of drinking on weeknights with this reasoning... why should I waste a Saturday or Sunday hungover? Work made me drink, work needs to own the consequences.

Don't forget that he did call for the release of the Epstein files. I think there could be no greater way of honouring him than to release them with all haste. Anyone who votes not to release them is spitting on his grave, and should be deported.

This is why I suspect a pro - it isn't that the shot is particularly difficult in target practicing... but in this circumstance, with an effective escape... and I believe subsonic rounds (in the one video I saw, I heard the shot before I saw the result), it seems fairly professional.

I was shooting a .303 since elementary school. 9X scope. This is not a long distance, but neither is it an "easy" shot. In target practice, yes - but when you are aiming at a human, moving, with likely one chance to hit, thinking about your escape, your heart pounding... my money is on a pro.

That's it right - it has been progressives fault for pushing him all along! Gay people for getting married, trans people for existing, BIPOC people for working. If only we all did what we were told, then he would be showering everyone with praise instead of putting them in concentration camps...

Oil in fridge is fine - usually 6 mths I think. But those pretty jars on the kitchen shelf should be for looking at, not eating.
