The only Malaysian to have competed in F1, Yoong drove for Minardi in 14 Grand Prix between 2001-2002. His best finish was 7th at the 2002 Australian Grand Prix.

#HappyBirthday to Bernd Schneider, 60 today.

1987 German F3 champion, Schneider started 9 GPs (1988-1990) in uncompetitive cars (Zakspeed, Arrows) with a best finish of 12th. He would go on to far greater success in the DTM & GT racing.

#HappyBirthday to Giovanna Amati, 65 today.

The most recent woman to have entered the F1 World Championship, Amati joined a struggling Brabham team for the 1992 season. She failed to qualify in her three outings. Prior to F1, Amati had been an F3000 regular (1987-1991).

Remembering Chris Amon, born #OnThisDay in 1943.

Widely regarded as one of the best drivers never to win a World Championship GP, Amon took part in 96 GPs between 1963-1976, finishing on the podium 11 times (2nd three times). He won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1966.

Remembering Tony Marsh, born #OnThisDay in 1931.

Best known as a six-time winner of the British Hill Climb Championship, Marsh drove a privateer Lotus-Climax-18 in two Grand Prix during 1961, finishing 15th at the Nürburgring.
