The warning I have been making about the use of digital media, the destruction of physical media and third spaces that are free from corporate influence are all linked to this. The quiet rewriting of the present and past by those who control the digital world is as real as burning books.
Back in Nazi Germany, art that was deemed "degenerate" was piled up in the streets and burned. I think people are waiting for stuff like that to start happening. But we don't live in an era of physical media anymore. That art is just going to quietly vanish from streaming services one day.
