Birds and birdsong; social justice and striving for full enactment of Aboriginal rights; really, really, really long walks; reading women writers and philosophers, writing, thinking; slow food.

Pulitzer Prize–winning journalist Chris Hedges and I have plenty to cover — his remarkable career, the betrayal of Palestinian journalists, the National Press Club fiasco, and *that* ABC Late Night Live interview.

We Used To Be Journos bonus episode drops Friday, 5am AEDT.

So, will the organisation with all the power and all the history have the courage to act swiftly and honourably so that the issues identified with that culture are no longer a risk to the First Nations populations in the NT 🤔

Another young Aboriginal man killed by NT police. I wholly concur with Yuendumu community and Andrew Boe’s assertion that an independent inquiry is the only viable option.

I despair at what is happening to civilians, ordinary people in Gaza.
Wee children are being bombed and starved, deprived of proper medical care, education, music, play, and the freedom to sleep and laugh.
It must stop. History will not look kindly on those who simply stood by.

Peter Dutton, Jacinta Price, Clive Palmer, Pauline Hanson, the IPA & Advance henceforth have no mandate. They’ve been thoroughly told NO.

This has been incrementally amplifying for decades. Policing in the NT (and throughout the country), despite attempts at reform from well intentioned operatives, requires fundamental restructure and refocus. www.thesaturdaypaper.com.au/news/indigen... via @thesaturdaypaper.com.au
How First Nations men are being demonised
ANALYSIS: Many politicians and public figures wrongly link violence with Indigenous cultural identity, which only intensifies stigma and does nothing for prevention efforts.

Cultural invasion!
Foff Trumpty Dumpty
President Trump has no place imposing his ideologies on Australian researchers. This is an insidious intervention in Australia’s national sovereignty that runs contrary to fundamental principles of free speech, academic integrity and robust, evidence-based research.
