How can you not be romantic about baseball?

You couldn’t make this stuff up. And fortunately, because baseball is awesome, you don't have to.

Ohtani’s performance tonight is maybe the best thing I’ve ever seen from an athlete in a playoff game in my lifetime?

I don't understand how dem leaders look at a senator being tackled at a noem briefing and say, "we need answers." You have the answers. You need to do something.

Trump will reportedly end the IRS Direct File program that allowed taxpayers to file taxes for free.

This comes after Intuit, the maker of TurboTax, lobbied the government for years to block IRS free file.

Intuit donated $1 million to Trump’s inauguration.

See how this works?

If you accept that non-citizens have no right to due process, you are accepting that citizens have no right to due process. All the government has to do is claim that you are not a citizen; without due process you have no chance to prove the contrary.

it's been years upon years of labored "campus culture" op-eds from salaried writers hectoring students about free speech, and now the state is kidnapping students for their speech in broad daylight

An underrated part of active/public #transit is how connected you feel to the world and your neighbors. You see, hear, and feel things in ways you just can’t through a car windshield.

Stop for a coffee? Chat with a friend on the street? Why not! You can just do it! You don’t even have to park!!

I'm deeply saddened to share that Donald Shoup passed away last night. He was the ideal academic—curious, methodical, and concerned with turning ideas into real-world change. TAing his parking course these past few years has one of the greatest honors of my life. Rest in peace, Shoup Dogg.

An important and under-discussed angle of the electrification vs mode shift discourse.

We can't get to zero carbon emissions without electrifying everything, but carbon isn't the only airborne hazard that matters. Reducing particulate matters is also a great reason to switch to smaller vehicles.
"The most abundant nanoplastic was tyre particles (41%), then polystyrene (28%) and polyethylene (12%). Each tyre on the world’s 1.6bn vehicles can lose 4kg during its lifetimes and may be the largest source of tiny plastic pollution."
Vehicle tyres found to be biggest source of nanoplastics in the high Alps

Absolutely insane article saying Canada should just join the United States when Canadians do not want to. It's a sovereign nation. Why is the New York Times greenlighting shit like this? It's irresponsible.

#LosAngeles native, here. I don't live in CA anymore but it will always be home. I left because, despite the sunny weather and natural beauty, it's just not livable. Expensive. Car-dependent. Fire prone. I don't regret those decisions, but there is so much grief in letting go of home. #climate #fire
