At the Smithsonian's natural History Museum, which houses the Hope Diamond. Along list of thieves and owners (from 1642 on) brought it to the United States in the early 20th c. Finally, Harry Winston donated the pared-down 45.5 carat diamond to the Smithsonian in 1958. It's insured for $250 million

You can tire of seeing imagery showing Pharaoh (any and all) smiting the enemy while in Egypt.

In the valley of the kings on the West Bank in Luxor at the temple for Hatshepsut. Three large statues of her, but also a lot of defaced images. The last picture shows out how her name in the cartouche was painted over (by an upset step son, Thutmose III)

I've always loved cold, snowy weather. Even more so since a recent kitchen re-model allowed me to put in a bigger window above the sink. My visual splendor.

First time in Nashville, TN. Visited the Frist museum, which doesn't have a permanent collection. Owning zero art, they just borrow paintings from museums & collectors and assemble an exhibit. New concept (In the >150 museums I've visited I can't think of another that operates on this principle).

Sculptor Edmonia Lewis (part African- part Native-American descended) chose her subjects carefully (African-American, or strong women). This 1868 marble duo, inspired by Longfellow's "Song of Hiawatha," shows Hiawatha and Minnehaha (lovers from opposing tribes). Seen @metmuseum
