The boss let us go at 3 today and at 305 this little #cat was on my lap like he knew the early release plan all along. I think he and the boss are in cahoots. PS I #work from home hence the record commute from office to couch.

I grind my #coffee in big batches because I got sick of wiping the counter of stray grounds every day. So all the fallout at once kills me. That's like gold, but even though my counter is clean, I just can't bring myself to use those grounds. My coffee guy hasn't raised prices (yet) but even so.

I often don't have the attention span to listen to full albums anymore, but I was able to listen to Rosalia Lux on Thursday and holy shit. So beautiful. The singles are great, but if you can, listen to the whole thing. It's got the emotional punch of an opera. Just wow. #music #musicsky #genius

Halloween decorations down, fall ones up. Just made this from backyard cuttings. Took like 2 minutes. No, it's not like a professional would make. But it's free. And pretty.
A long "bouquet" of various cuttings: dappled willow and two types of decorative grasses with haylike ends (not sure what it's called when grasses bloom and go to seed). They are tied together with green, open-weave ribbon and hung upside down on a white front door.

It was crazy rainy, windy, and cold last night (poor trick-or-treaters) but my #trees are still hanging on to their beautiful leaves. The first, Ripley, a flamethrower redbud, is an opposite tree in that it starts out bright red and turns green in fall. The second is Mable the Maple. #autumn #fall

When I'm home on #Halloween I watch #movies I've seen a million times so I don't get annoyed by the interruptions of little ones begging for food. This year I shall do #werewolves so the kids don't get too scarred when they look at what I'm watching. Keep it PG13.
Two DVD cases splayed so you can see the titles: An American Werewolf in London and Silver Bullet (a highly underrated one IMO). Plus I had a mad crush on Corey Haim when I was a kid.

Homemade apple sauce is stupid easy to make and is dang delicious. This year I added some brown sugar and salt for salted caramely taste, but usually no sugar is needed at all. I love it for #dessert with some plain Greek yogurt and Goya Maria cookies. My house smells so good. #cooking #food
A stainless steel pot with mashed applesauce, brown with various spices, and a potato masher sticking up out of the sauce. It's just a bunch of apples, peeled and chopped up, some lemon juice, some water, and cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, allspice. Sweetener is fine but not necessary. Bring to a boil then simmer, covered, for 20-30 minutes til apples are soft enough to smash. Apple season in NY is kind of epic.

For your #caturday viewing pleasure. Brutus went to the vet this week for a concerning lump on his shoulder. The vet pretended to rub the "dirt" off his nose like he was a human child who would get the joke. And yes, it was adorable.
