Found some hedgehogs hiding in a stump, surrounded by a bunch more out in the open. I harvested just a few, they are my favorites.

This Prince I chose to harvest. I leave most edible mushrooms where I find them because I don't cook a lot and they do require work. Today I found a Prince that whispered, "take me home." So I did.

This was a few years ago, but tis the season, and this was a wonderful find. I actually left them there, instead of taking them home and enjoying them, because they were just too beautiful. The Prince, Agaricus augustus.
