Another day, another trip to the library. Picked up another stack of DVDs. There were so many documentaries to choose from, so I went with these four and will borrow more in the near future.

Stopped by the library today and picked up a book along with some DVDs. Looking forward to watching and reading these.

Finally got around to harvesting the potatoes. We ended up with 12 pounds of Russian Blue and 4 pounds og Yukon Gold. While not a huge harvest, I'm happy with what we got. I also spotted a couple of raspberries on one of the plants, which I wasn't expecting to find in October. #gardensky

I'm finishing Papyrus by Irene Vallenjo. After that, I will probably read The Book At War by Andrew Pettegree.

Very exciting book mail arrived today. My copy of Falling In A Sea of Stars by Kristen Britain is here, and it's gorgeous! I have been reading this series since the first book came out more than 25 years ago. I have had this pre-ordered for MONTHS, and I'm so excited to finally have it. #booksky 📚💙

Oh man, just heard about Jane Goodall. RIP.

Another trip to the library today, and I brought home a pile of books. It's safe to say I am still very much in a non-fiction mood. #booksky 💡📚💙 #librarybooks

Can we all just take a moment and appreciate how perfect this dandelion is. Spotted it in my backyard. #bloomscrolling #nature #flower

The first potato harvest is a bit on the light side. I pulled 7 Golden potato plants and ended up with 9 very small potatoes. The Russian Blue potatoes did slightly better, pulled 2 plants, and ended up with a bit over a dozen small potatoes. #gardensky

Swung by the library to drop off a book and ended up perusing the DVD section. I think it's safe to say my entertainment for the next few days is secured.

And the final DVD I picked up is this 4-pack of classic movies. #filmsky #moviesky

I visited a local thrift shop today, and they had quite a decent selection of DVDs. I picked up a few to add to our home collection. Honestly, I know nothing about these movies and picked them up purely because they looked interesting (based on the front image or title).

Adding some more movies to my collection. I've seen the first 6 Tremors movies, though I don't quite remember the 5th and 6th movies. So, finding all 7 movies in a collection is perfect. Cannot wait to rewatch the first 6 movies before watching the 7th one for the first time. #filmsky #moviesky

Another book finished from my pile of currently reading books. There was about 50 pages left of this one. #booksky 📚💙

Enjoying the nice weather, reading a book, and hanging out with my dog.

The state of my currently reading pile is a bit out of control. This doesn't even include the audiobook and ebook that I'm in the middle of. Needless to say, I will be working on finishing these books this week. #booksky 📚💙

I'll admit, I forgot I ordered this book, but now that it's here, I'm excited to have it. I love encyclopedias, and I plan to read my encyclopedia set cover to cover in the near future (yes, I'm that crazy). So, having a book about the history of encyclopedias is perfect. #booksky 💡📚💙

A simple but delicious charcuterie plate for dinner. Honey garlic smoked sausage, pepperoni, wheat things, vegetable thins, marble cheese, garden herb mazuda cheese, and sliced apples.

The garden may be slowing down, and granted, it has struggled all season long, but I do have a number of tomatoes that are getting closer to being ripe. It won't be much, but it should be enough for a meal or two. #gardensky

Guys! These are so good! If you can find a bag of Choco Churro Turtle Chips, you should give them a try. Probably best to buy more than one bag because they are addictive.
September 10, 2025 at 2:13 AM
I also picked up a few new snacks to try.

Made a trip to the city to do some shopping, and of course, I had to visit the 2 used bookstores. I found a couple of books, and my son picked up 7 books. A quick visit to a few more stores and I got a DVD and a CD to add to my collection.

Look what arrived, and it's gorgeous! Lord of Blackthorne by Jason Kingsley from the Kickstarter campaign. This is going to the top of my TBR - as soon as I finish reading my current library loan.

It's somewhat funny that the first book I started reading in August is also the last book I finished reading for the month. But such is the way that books sometimes work. I enjoyed reading a small section of it each day and always looked forward to what I would learn from its pages. #booksky 💡📚💙

Spent the last 30 minutes outside playing with my dog while also taking photos of random insects that I spotted. Not sure what some of them are, but the grasshoppers were great to spot, especially the one practically hidden within the gravel. #insects #naturesky
