Discovered the Yukon in 1985, never leaving. Historian, traveller, photographer, writer, wilderness hiker, naturist, dog lover, antifa - on some particularly fine days, all of those things. Photos are mine unless otherwise credited.

The art deco Marine Building in Vancouver, BC, has been my favourite building in the city since I was a kid and it was a dominant structure on the skyline.

Once we get home from Newfoundland in early July, we'll be spending the rest of the season wandering around the Yukon and northern BC in our own RV, with Bella and Tucker. We have another awesome year coming ❤️

It's time to shift focus to the next Grand Adventure for Cathy and me. In less than 7 months we'll be flying to Halifax, seen in this photo. After 3 days there we'll pick up an RV from Fraserway and take a ferry to Newfoundland for 5 weeks of wandering.

Dinkelsbühl is one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Germany. At St. George's Church is this statue of Christoph von Schmid, priest, writer, and storyteller to children. #Kodachome, May 1991.

With Tucker, looking north from the Canada/USA border in the White Pass. I had planned to do this hike again this past season but ran out of time. This was September 2019.

I need to figure out a way to enjoy this lovely week we have coming. Having no snow well into November is a very uncommon event.

Moonrise over Prince of Wales Island, 10:30 pm, seen from the Celebrity Millennium a few years ago. I love going through my thousands of photos from Alaska cruises, and some day when Trump, MAGA, ICE, etc are just bad memories I'll return and add more to these albums.

Kodi, a purebred/registered Siberian I drove from Whitehorse to Calgary to get from a family who couldn't deal with him. In the photo he's at a remote beach we canoed to on Lake Bennett in June 2001.

Vancouver yesterday - an easy walk from the Bentley and Ferrari showrooms is the section of Granville Street that may help you reflect on the life you live. In the "perfect" Canada, nobody would have to live like this - to add to the misery of this scene, it had been raining for much of the night. 😔

June 1991, starting my second year of driving Yukon-Alaska tours. This was final day (Day 10) of our standard tour from Whitehorse to their cruise ship at Seward (via Dawson City and Fairbanks), with a German group, shot along Kenai Lake on the Seward Highway. #Kodachrome
