But can the MAGA crowd? Especially if MAGA media is working overtime to make them forget. They’ll believe almost anything he says—yet oddly, the Epstein stuff is the only thing that seems to pierce the mental armor...

Maybe he will. Because as long as everyone in MAGA media world is talking about numbers and how they have been doctored, none of them are talking about Epstein ...

For now, parts of the MAGA crowd will set aside Epstein and take his numbers at face value. Meanwhile, the Maxwell story will be toned down by MAGA-aligned media.

Good. However, a country can experience negative excess mortality for a period, but since older individuals were particularly at risk, one would expect excess mortality to rise relatively soon after. Are there any estimates for when that might occur for NZ?

However, for countries/EU with more balanced trade, striking back via services might make more strategic sense. That could catalyze growth among domestic tech giants-in-the-making, helping them break through market barriers and challenge the US giants.

I expect TACO. But let’s say Trump sticks with the tariffs—then what?

For countries running a large trade surplus with the US (e.g. South Korea, Taiwan), there’s little room to maneuver. You absorb the hit and wait for the tariffs to backfire on the US economy. It’s passive, but realistic.

What would you suggest the EU do? If anyone can freely travel to Libya and then cross the Mediterranean, Europe could face a significant and unmanaged increase in migration.

It doesn’t matter who has the most support among Democrats—what matters is who has the most support among the broader electorate.

The root problem in the UK is the first-past-the-post electoral system. Reforming it would give sensible parties more influence and help curb the rise of extremist ones.

Trump fabricated the threat of migrant caravans for his first campaign, offered a simple solution: a wall. Voters bought it. Later concerns about traditional values, focusing heavily on transgender issues, especially athletes, despite most Americans never encountering such situations personally.

Facts are secondary in elections. What matters is convincing voters there's a problem and that only you can solve it. Whether the concern is real or manufactured is irrelevant—perception drives votes, not reality.

The dynamic is straightforward: Most voters aren't loyal to party labels or ideological purity. They care deeply about one or two key issues and will vote for whoever they believe will seriously address them—regardless of that candidate’s broader platform or character.

In the United States, many voters are deeply concerned about illegal immigration and preserving traditional values. This concern led them to back a serial fraudster — someone who exaggerated the problem, but crucially, promised to take action.

Voters will support extremist parties if they are the only ones addressing issues people deeply care about. In most European countries, many voters are concerned about immigration from the 3rd world. As long as mainstream parties ignore or downplay this issue, people will vote for extremists.

Part of the problem is that Europeans have yet to persuade either the Chinese regime or the Trump regime that Ukraine is an existential issue for Europe — that allowing Russia to win would pose a grave threat to European security and stability.

Anonymity on social platforms enables manipulation. It allows foreign governments, corporations, and oligarchs to deploy fake accounts and amplify their views at scale. This distorts public discourse and undermines the possibility of genuine democratic debate.
