A lot of people are citing the sales numbers, but the Wii was also *the* system for casuals and first time console gamers at the time; so casual, they didn't realize the Wii U was a different console when it came out.
That's all the more reason for hardcore gamers to have respected the Wii.

I was in junior high in the late aughts, and the anti-Nintendo sentiment was alive and well. Even the one guy who had a PS3 was laughed at. I even remember doing a special summer program with college age chaperones and one of them sneering at the very idea of gaming on a Wii.

I literally ran several laps across the village looking for these. "Maybe they'll spawn if I populate all the figure stands?" Nope, they're just barely visible inside a couple random chimneys.

I'm just going off what everyone around me was saying in Junior High sixteen years ago. Everyone was talking about MWF2 constantly even after Black Ops came out. They seemed to find BO disappointing for whatever reason; only my history teacher seemed to love it.

From the perspective of someone who's played an hour of MWF2 once in 2011, all I remember about Black Ops 1 is that it wasn't popular at the time because it was different from MWF. And yet there are seven of them now.

I legit thought I accidentally bought the PAL version of the game when it started up and Krystal and Scales started speaking this weird cryptolect of English.

Any time I tried the SNES one I fell off quickly because of the way it controls. I can't imagine preferring it to 64, which at least plays pretty well.

I thought maybe the GBA SP kit would work better, but the screen passthrough also does not work on my kit. I've been nothing but gentle with all the kits, tried reseating the ribbon cables fifty times, all the obvious stuff. Is their quality control just that bad? This is infuriating.
