I'm sending a little money and I'd encourage you to as well -- Lahaina was the capital of the Hawaiian kingdom pre-colonization, and people are hurting both because of the direct damage from the fires as well as the refreshed cultural wound.

i've been thinking a lot about this -- how when you let capitalists take the reins, they completely cannibalize whatever thing they're trying to mine for profit. it's such a quick turnaround of acquire -> extract -> obliterate. it feels so opposite to being human.
