As hard as it was, i have some very special memories and friends from that time. It’s a wonderful thing to organize horizontally and take care of people. We learned a lot from all the people we met, and without them helping us, even in their time of suffering, it would not have been possible.

This policy of outdoor detention went on for months. it killed people. It would have killed a lot more if it wasn’t for orgs and mutual aid groups up and down the border stepping up when the Biden admin tried to sweep these people under the rug and ignore them.
