it was soul meets body for the record and the local karaoke joint is NOT PREPARED for me now that I'm armed with this knowledge

wikipedia coming through great as per usual though, look at this beauty from 1918 in "Gray's Anatomy of the Human Body":

but damn if it's not a reality check I guess. Shit just sucks, I don't have a moral here or way to tie this up, uhh hey what's the deeaaaal with society? eyyy? *fingerguns* ok I'm done thanks bye

it's frustrating how much work you can put into recognizing your privilege and still not end up seeing shit that's happening right in front of you. it's not about my feelings and that's why I'm skeeting em into the void instead of putting em on her

I'm sorry, that must be so frustrating. 🫂💜

Gatekeeping sucks and helps no one.

Aren't ME and CFS different names for the same illness??

this sort of dispute comes up in a lot of other communities where diagnosis is too important to getting care that some really attach themselves to the specific label that lets doctors treat them. eg PTSD vs CPTSD, medicalized gender dysphoria

I like it in some games, but it's been done enough that it's no longer surprising and so I like it more as just a way to have a real layer of interaction between players and characters. Control did it well imo. reading a name from eg the user directory seems like a bad idea for lots of reasons lol

I've had to come to think of it in similar terms hah. Having a body is too fucked up to be real

"matter of fact, doya have a hex key on ya? I can just pull off the panel so you can get a look at 'er"

"Yah bud, here it is," I say, unceremoniously throwing myself onto the examination table.

"It's been on the fritz all week, think the nerves might need a rewire. Poked around in the logs a bit and there's not much sensor data in the extremities, and what's there in the spinal erectors is all bad."

it seems like ankles are a huge nexus of complicated nerve and muscle connections and things that go wrong there can have huge effects on the rest of the body. Wish I'd known much earlier how big of a factor they can be.

I have fibromyalgia and not hypermobility afaik, but I've recently learned how extremely important my ankles/feet are to my condition and indroducing some calf raises to my routine has helped enormously.

looking forward to neopronoun support in 4.5 and unruly antifa mob simulation in 4.6!

if possible, ofc - just some unsolicited advice since the idea caught my interest. good luck, sounds really neat!!

how many batches are you dispatching? any cases where I can dispatch more to avoid branching, it's been worth it - instead of looping for a ray it might be worth e.g. running a compute shader for each pixel (dispatching a shader for each possible iteration to a max distance)
October 3, 2024 at 6:57 PM
yeah with that in mind, I would definitely expect single-tile performance to be worse than on the CPU because you'll probably need some branching, but on large enough grids or enough simultaneous agents pathfinding, the parallelism could come in big

ooh I'm a big fan of the 2d animated weapon/hand view, that's a really nice touch I haven't seen elsewhere! looking good so far
October 3, 2024 at 6:47 PM
oh no what is this? first time I've seen a project get forked over discord drama

nice work!! Love how it's shaping up :)
