Is it possible to burn yourself out from reading? Maybe it’s because I didn’t sleep well & my head isn’t in a great place but I’m looking at the book now like “meh”

I always fool myself into thinking this time it’ll stick when really it won’t. Doesn’t make it hurt any less though

I’m just the hag they humor until they decide they don’t want me in their space anymore because I’m not funny / interesting / valuable enough for them to put any emotional investment into the relationship. I continually put myself out there with little / nothing in return.

I’d appreciate it but I might be in the minority. I’d love knowing people liked it enough to read it again

Stopped around 300 pages. I spent most of the time reading & way less time on my phone. I’m in such a better mood today even though I’m still sick. Maybe there is something to not being chronically online

Almost halfway through & I only started this morning. I’m so fucking proud of myself

Page 200 / Chapter 20 - Holden is still significantly more palatable & they cast Miller way too young

162 pages. I haven’t read this much in a day in years. I’m very proud of my brain

100 pages in & they’ve successfully info dumped several times. I’ve actually forgotten the main conspiracy plot so it’ll be a surprise

So far Holden’s character is a lot more likable but I’m only 45 pages into well over 5000

Also part of my motivation is it’s a multi POV story with a larger mystery / conspiracy. A lot of the major elements are what I want to do in Bloodlines, albeit with more smut

Google Docs does the same thing. I get over a certain WC & it consistently crashes. I need to transition to another platform anyway

I saw a repost from Tumblr where the OP said they read their own work regularly because they wrote what they wanted to read & that gave me a new perspective

Just spent like 2 hours on Pinterest looking for writing prompts & getting distracted by SPN memes.

I see so much of myself at that age and I know what happens with that kind of mindset (nothing good), but sometimes you just have to step back and let them fall and be there to help them back up without judging or saying “told you so”
