Never felt closer to the experience of a psychotic break than watching big screen Kill Bill Fortnite at 12:30 in the morning

This is a pretty good, nasty little story

Gotta be the laziest logo I’ve seen from a big 2 project

Thinking again today about one of the all-time greatest moments of comic writers telling on themselves

Lol barely posted in months but bad comics news does inspire something in me I guess

I simply cannot believe X-Men 97 has enough juice to justify this level of logo design downgrade

Finally got to the new Who and had a vision of RTD walking up to a chalkboard, writing MIDNIGHT and then MIDNIGHT$

I stand by the fact that Loki s2 was a real mess - those middle four episodes are just running in circles with barely any character work or plot, and almost no impact on the ending - but you could put the first and last episode together into a very satisfying movie followup to s1

The thing about Loki is it's the only Marvel project in 15+ years to actually be horny in an interesting way.

Sometimes you see a comics page that’s just destined to do huge numbers on 2027’s “Crazy Ass Superhero Comics”

Jesus, Keith Giffen? Absolutely floored, had no idea he was even ill. Incredible talent, I don’t think his influence has ever really been properly recognized despite being probably one of the ten most influential superhero guys ever.

Revisited the Azzarello Wonder Woman and I will never for the life of me understand why this book got so much hate at the time. The art and designs are incredible, the story is self-contained and moves at a clip, tons of fun characters and a solid Diana voice…

This is always the thing that gets me about the ComicsAlliance era versus the current - I think there's probably more good critical writing done now than there was then, but CA pushed jokes in a big way and that drew in audiences that then read the criticism as well (I know I did!)

Caught up on that new Doom Patrol book and despite some fantastic work by Chris Burnham on the art and designs, I’ve never seen a book miss the point of the franchise it’s working in this badly.

Complete lack of any ambition, creativity or wonder in favor of big-standard superhero stuff + nostalgia

Obviously here for this, but has Hickman ever written anything with an (ostensibly) singular protagonist before? Black Monday Murders is the only thing I can think that comes close since The Nightly News

Been rewatching Justified and the season where Ava just goes off and does Orange Is The New Black for 13 episodes is one of the more inexplicable decisions ever made by a great show

Been randomly reading through Brevoort’s Substack and I’m starting to be convinced Marvel Comics shouldn’t be allowed to exist

I understand The Boys is a deeply flawed comic and one of Garth Ennis' weakest works, but every time people talk about it they can't stop themselves from fully writing off Ennis as a writer and it drives me nuts
