Found a nice "average" game. Even then, I can see a lovely plot for the game, the season's plotline for both teams, injured players (Mantle's broken foot), names that have done or will go on to big things. It all speaks to something I love; Baseball is about the long game, but every moment counts.

All set in the booth to commentate on another Baseball game. It's Wednesday, June 25, 1947, and the St Louis Browns are visiting the Philadelphia Athletics. Let's "Play Ball" as the recreation recording commences!

Right up with the time Abba's drummer decided to give F1 a go...

All set to record tomorrow's baseball game commentary... charts at the ready as I prep to head back to 1963.

Just 66 light years from the Pleiades Zoo, so if you wanted to take a break and help contain the occasional Thargoid breakthrough, let the AXI team know!

...and baseball being baseball, you have research and numbers to help get more numbers for results. Such as this gem from SABR sabr.org/journal/arti...

Yes, my next podcast project does need some procedural generation to replicate the swing of a baseball bat, why do you ask?

"Resident Alien" stuck the landing, Really good final episode, just enough threads left hanging to feel "life goes on" (and provide AO3 with some fuel), yet the key plotlines, themes, and messages all arrive at a natural point to close the story out. Congrats.

It's almost like OpenAI and Sora think that the awesome power and flexibility and the ability to save mankind (probably) isn't attractive enough to offer "opt-in"

A curious few days coming up, as the latest "What Needs Done Today And This Week" notebook is full, and I'm ready to start another one... The amount of "wear, tear, and patina" on the old cover reflects the last two years.

And for those of you who like spreadsheets, notebooks, and commentators' scorecards, here's my finalised card from the baseball game.

One advantage the upcoming podcast Fired Force Five is, of course, the open nature of RSS distribution.

Been a while since I recorded a "test/pilot" podcast episode. Ten minutes bringing together all the concepts sketched out so far, now quietly gathering opinions from those who do sports, history, and old-time radio (nudge me if you think that's you). Off to take more notes on Lindsay Nelson's style.

When a dog interrupts this weekend's Glasgow Derby baseball game, my "big book of commentators' stories" results in a Ronald Regan cameo for those watching on YouTube #clip. youtube.com/clip/UgkxrA4...

Tonal mismatch of tones, missing the 'standalone' USP of the show, lifting the worst beats of previous episodes in the season, terrible sub-Coldplay montage to end... did they lose the final episode of Strange New Worlds and just drop in a Discovery script instead???

The eInk Boox Palma 2 (caveat: this is a sample supplied by Boox for evaluation) actually undershoots the classic Pan Paperback size with a 2:1 aspect ratio. It's *really* nice to read on.

This is Charlie, she's looking far too cute and cosy given her regular "I'm queen of this castle" attitude!

Currently at the Honor Magic V5 launch. Putting aside the GenAI filtered headshots, I'm wondering where the female-presenting panelists are? #sigh Tech people, we should be better than this!

14 years ago I did a podcast called Room 404... thepodcastcorner.com/show/room404/ ...I could be convinced to join a new game.

Looks like Strange New Worlds had a very special guest star in the last episode (Maybe RTD has already started work with Paramount instead of Disney for Doctor Who? :-p ) Nice work CGI team! @thespoilist.bsky.social @iainhepburn.me
