I can see why so many games resort to using the controller to move a virtual mouse cursor. I tend to dislike those UIs. Instead, I have my own handle_input method that is called from the parent scene if the child should have focus. Only the top level scene is using _input itself. Seems to work well.

With a controller, you're jumping from element to element, but you have to be aware of the current context. Godot has the `_input` method in a scene to listen for events, but if you get a controller movement you have to make sure that your scene is the current focus!
