Has that difference in core tenet led to Catholic leaders or communities behaving more humanely? Fuck no, not on the whole.

I'm genuinely confused by this. Sure, plenty of Catholics are shits, but terrible way you're *supposed* to treat people? The core break between Catholicism and early protestantism was the former saying good works are needed for redemption. That is, treating others with love is mandatory to be saved

I grew up in rural Appalachia and we had fucking garage bands.
