These people desperately want to pretend that there is some immutable quality which is a person's sex. Because they know that dictating every aspect of a person's life based on a 30-second examination at birth, would sound ridiculous, even though that's exactly what they want.

I will take your word for it, and I'm glad the character was well written, but I can't forgive casting a cis man to play a trans woman. It's does so much harm, and there's just no good reason to do it.

Police officers have discretion not to arrest someone if their arrest isn't in the public interest. In these cases, the officers have likely been directed not to exercise that discretion. In other words, the government is choosing to enforce this law as strictly as possible.

This is such a pathetic argument. It's like one kidnapper telling you that the other guy wanted to send your family an eyeball, but he talked them down to just cutting off your pinky finger. Like, yeah, that is technically better. You still cut off my finger, I still hope you rot in prison.
