I have been traveling and today I present to you...the thing I saw in the Frankfurt airport.
Is it efficient? Undeniably. Does it probably work better than the normal way? Oh certainly. Produce less of a mess? Probably?
But the existence of Condiment Udders gives me a deep, aghast disquiet.

This is absolutely batshit and amazing. I didn’t even know that some ant species have to mate with a different species to produce workers (!!!) but they are literally mating with another species, ripping out their own DNA, and producing a clone of the male they mates with. That is NUTS
The weird new ant paper that shows queens laying eggs of a completely different species has me thinking that more species are probably cloning sperm in their spermathecae than we’d thought.
After all, most queens only mate once and cloning would be a great mechanism for keeping the party going.
