Oh I hate these lost skills arguments. I've heard so many times about 'skills lost forever' That are being practised by numerous reenactors and practical archaeologists.

BTW, It IS possible to be a medieval re-enactor and not be awful racist.

What about this wonderful head/handle. Or one of the big flared penannular brooches or even a really cool macro shot of the intricacies of one of the tortoise brooches in Dublin Museum?

My dog wouldn't eat her breakfast this morning, she's an erratic Romanian streetdog that we rehomed. It took me a while to work out why she wouldn't eat. It was because she hadn't had her morning cuddle.

Idiot dog

I struggle with them too, My mum is fine, she's just not interested in me or my kids. So finding a card that doesn't tell her she's the BEST MUM IN THE WOOOORLD IS hard. This year I struck gold

Also looking for Steerboard images, I stumbled on these:

Damage to the steerboard in shallow water (and that's a big piece of oak) and the subsequent repair by one of our skilled crafts people

Thank you!😁 In reality she (the Bear) is a bit of a tub, she's squished up at both ends to fit on a trailer that can be towed by a suitable vehicle.

But in a certain light she can look good.

From personal experience of these types of boats, It's really easy to damage the steer-board in shallow water (especially the odd sticky out bit) so having a punting pole in the shallows makes a lot of sense.

@rspb.bsky.social @chrisgpackham.bsky.social is there anyone out there that can identify my son's feather. Found in woodland north of Swansea.

It's pretty big 40cm+
We thought a goose of some sort, but it's quite reddish.

Unless you've worked on a government service, It's hard to explain how complicated and how many dependencies there are. Usually there's legislation to consider as well as pretty much every service needing a paper/ person to person counterpart. It takes years to even understand a service.

Can't remember the last time I actually posted anything.
So here's a poem about my dog
