It's interesting to see the continued pessimism about the economy. NYT just had a panel where various leading economists talked about how the economy is holding up well in spite of all the headwinds. But under both Trump and Biden voters seem to have a much more negative view than the media.

This is exactly what people warned about with the War on Terror...eventually these policies carving out a loophole to take away rights will be expanded to other groups.

Tucker might be worried that the MAGA censors will eventually come for him. Within the far right there's a split between people who are fanatical supporters of Israel and others who criticize Israel (often on conspiratorial grounds) like Tucker and Candace Owens.

Tucker has actually gotten a lot of criticism from the right for being critical of Israel. A common thing you hear is that he's being paid by Qatar to attack Israel. Of course he also pushes insane conspiracy theories but there's some internal disagreement there.

That explains why Biden had terrible numbers on inflation and why Trump now also does. In spite of presiding over a propaganda empire Trump wasn't able to convince people he was lowering prices when he wasn't. It also gives Democrats an opening if they can present a credible solution to this issue.

I agree it sounds weird at times but you have to compare that to the alternative...the authorities for unknown reasons fabricated a conversation between these two people and no one involved has spoken out to say that it's made up.

I'm sure this is true overall, but when it comes to inflation and cost of living it feels like we're ignoring the much simpler explanation: prices went up a lot. Although inflation has slowed they stayed at an elevated level. People were mad about that under Biden and they still are under Trump.

Your article doesn't contradict what I said. Here's what Julie Brown, the journalist whose work triggered the entire Epstein investigation, had to say about it.

This is also what I worry about with Gavin Newsom becoming the default nominee for 2028. Yes his team may be more combative than Harris' was but it's hard to see how he makes a credible case for bold policies when he never implemented anything like that in California.

People love to repeat this line but there's actually a very simple explanation...it was an ongoing investigation during the Biden admin. They couldn't have released the case files from an open investigation.

It seems like all of this is the result of a cynical political calculation by Trump and the GOP...RFK Jr. has a captive audience of fanatical followers and they're determined to keep them in the GOP camp.

We're not just talking about a single controversy but major events in recent history that right-wingers have a completely false understanding of....who won the election? What caused the pandemic?
So my criticism of liberals is...let's not go down this road. Don't be like Trump supporters.

There are two many examples to name. Many right-wingers are convinced that USAID was mostly a "fraud" when in reality it provided almost half the humanitarian aid in the world. They think Fauci created the pandemic when scientists strongly believe it had a natural origin.

Grasping at every crumb of info that supports your view while aggressively denying anything that refutes it might make sense if everything comes down to a propaganda war. But if you want to actually figure out the truth that's obviously not a smart approach.

The engravings are somewhat debatable IMO but the roommate + friends of the shooter were known a couple days ago and it seems like a lot of people just chose to...completely ignore that information? Admittedly there were a lot of claims flying around but that's not an excuse to flat-out deny things.

Also there was a recent incident that was basically a mirror image of this where a right-wing shooter in Minnesota murdered Democratic politicians and conservatives are still unable to accept that he's right-wing. Lots of examples!

Many of them still think Joe Biden stole the 2020 election through mass mail-in ballot fraud in spite of not being in the government at the time and no real evidence ever emerging of this.
