In the moon garden, plants bloom at night. If you’re patient enough and have some time at the twilight, you can watch evening primrose opens up before you. Happy summer solstice.

In 1777, de Lafayette sailed from France to America. He gave his fortune & was wounded on the battlefield for American liberty.
American Friends of Lafayette reenact Lafayette’s tour of 1824-25 at exact places.
It was a very nice event. Many Breton shirts, bicyclists, & officials.

Never miss April. The magnolias are in full bloom. Someone, sometime, chose these trees, planted them, put small tablets. We don't know who these people were. But every year, flocks of locals and visitors come. Hundreds of pictures, countless smiles. Somebody put happiness on the calendar.

Mark the calendar: every last Saturday of April is Independent Bookstore Day.

There are always surprising finds, interesting local authors, and a tight-knit community.
The picture is taken in the "Author's note" at Medina, NY.

Fields of Henbit (Lamium amplexicaule) at #upstateny.
According to Agronomy eUpdate, henbit is frequently observed in fallow fields (the fields intentionally unseeded for soil to rest and regenerate).

A nearby two-story building with a restrained Art Deco is a really old one, 1914, used as a hospital during WWI. This one had scribbles carved on old desks from prior generations of students. We had humanitarian courses there: philosophy, history, introduction to economics and political science.

Neoclassic, 1918, with old amphitheater, high whitewashed ceilings, and the Museum of Medicine (also, where you have your state anatomy exam). A tinge of formalin in the air. A lovely little park around. A plaque on the wall commemorates students who fought fascists during WWII.

Go to “Women at NASA”, click on “Explore the gallery”, and find out how narrow is today’s #NASA visible universe. 😢
Fact of erasing creates a history no less than fact of creation. What happen when “Mona Lisa” was stolen? It was returned 2 years later and became the most famous painting in history.

Spending at least 2 hours with nature is good for health and happiness. And in #rochester, likely for vitamin D level too.

Something very appealing in Dr. #Hotez 's book "The Deadly Rise of Anti-science" --💡He set a special time on Sunday to reflect on the bigger picture and make a global difference.
