Back to work, since my bad conscience has caught up with me after meeting @mbrandonmassey.bsky.social for lunch at #aarsbl25
The article rewrite I still owe you will eventually find its way to you. I promise 😅 - not a bad work setup in my American sister's basement though.

Thank you and good-bye, Boston/#aarsbl25!
Grateful for 4 days of scientific input, presenting, debating, laughing, and for aaaall the books!
Also: I get to take home the pre-print of my book. ❤️🔥
Next stop: Milwaukee, to celebrate Thanksgiving with my American Family ❤️

Black friday for scholars of religion. The moment the book exhibition opens on the last day of #aarsbl25 and some publishers just give away their books for free, so they don't have to ship them back home 😍

One final, already travel ready, #ootd for day 4 of #aarsbl25.
November 25, 2025 at 4:00 PM
About last night.
The happiness, when all your papers are given and you can just enjoy time with wonderful people at a conference ❤️

Last presentation of the session by Hunter Edwards and Grant Testut introduced us to the game "shadow of the colossus" and how it plays with the not only but also biblical motif of the danger of coming too close to the holy. #aarsbl25

Kelsey Spinnato shows us, how sometimes one's love for farming games can lead to a scientific paper about Genesis reception in video games. In this case we were talking about the game "Harvestella". #aarsbl25
November 24, 2025 at 7:50 PM
Emily Rock asks "what's in a meme?" And shows us through a case study with a meme that theologizes on the book of Job. One of the results: (many) people do have their understanding of a theology of suffering. #aarsbl25
November 24, 2025 at 7:07 PM
Solène Feller took us into the apocalyptic world of the game "Silent Hill" and how it uses biblical apocalyptical quotes quite frequently. #aarsbl25
November 24, 2025 at 6:59 PM
Abigail Thompson starts us off with a very engaging presentation on how the Gen Z meme culture and the book of Ecclesiastes go together in their lamenting. Fantastic paper! #aarsbl25
November 24, 2025 at 6:20 PM
Didn't expect to hear about Austrian Architect Alfred Loos here at #aarsbl25 in Boston. @juliansieber.bsky.social is giving a great critique of Loos' quite terrible article "Ornament and Crime" and his misinterpretation of Revelation's Heavenly Jerusalem.

First Session of #aarsbl25 day 3 for me are 5 papers all around the Revelation of John. - @lhuber.bsky.social is presiding.

Always impressive, how many women show up for a 7am @sblsite.bsky.social women networking breakfast. Definitely one of my favourite things about this conference. 2h ours too appreciate and uplift each other, whole also acknowledging challenges so many of us face in academia. #aarsbl25

Early #ootd for day 3 of #aarsbl25. But women's breakfast at 7am is worth it!

Beautiful Boston ❤️

Listening to Bernadette Brooten present was, as always, a joy and very informative! She presented her research on why she suggests that Junia and Julia from Roman 16 might have been freed women, who were enslaved before. #aarsbl25

#ootd for day 2 of #sblaar25.
Please note the Greenbay Packers scarf! It is GameDay! #gopackgo

Yep. This was fun.
I love presenting. (Don't know if you can see it...)
I got so much positive and inspiring feedback on my paper. What a great day at #sblaar25
❤️❤️

Already my highlight of #sblaar25: holding my first book in my hands for the very first time! What a milestone. ❤️
You can now pre-order "Maria – Mutter im Konflikt" with @mohrsiebeck.bsky.social
“Dr. Eva Puschautz, published author” doesn’t sound too bad, does it?

Next is a paper by @siobhanjolley.bsky.social on the Noli me tangere theme in paintings and how they don't really show a Johannine Magdalene, because the Gospel doesn't describe much of her there, but painters already work with a woman composed out of all Gospels and some unnamed women. #sblaar25
November 22, 2025 at 3:12 PM
And so it begins. First paper I'm listening to is given by Magdalene Breidenthal, who is showing us stunning paintings out of a byzantine Church in Cyprus (painted 1105/1106), dealing with light symbolism, probably also inspired by "I am the light of the world" (John 8:12). #sblaar25

Still a great and a bit absurd feeling to see my name with the title of a paper I will give in print in the programme book of the annual meeting of #sblaar25
Come, join our Gospel of Mark session if you're around in Boston today in the afternoon!
❤️❤️

Let's talk about self-empowered women in the Gospel of Mark today!

So, apparently Jetlag is good for my physical health.
Good Morning, Boston.
