Overnight/nearhome charger network for those without homechargers.
Just-transition €150 pm EV lease for low earners, €2k 2ndhand & €5k grant new EV below €30k
The 2000 km weekly return trip from Dub to Brussels for face-2 -face meetings emits obscene emissions when thousands in Dub dial into meetings with colleagues in Brussels each day but of course ye are green & rest of us are not! Another fall in latest opinion poll as cant let go of yere delusions

So you'll go on weekly sail-rail Dub to Brussels 2k km return? Corporate travel ended for almost everyone over a decade ago replaced by virtual meetings but 'greens' never got the memo.

City orbital m.way would allow me & 133k outside city within 40km park at one of 3 planned P&R & bike/bus last 10km to city. Same method used in carfree Pontevedra & all dutch cites. Scattered pop pattern far from bustops gave up on magical simplistic GP solution with collapse in support to 1.5%
April 9, 2025 at 8:20 PM
Road transport emissions higher after greens ran dept of transport for 5 yrs. GP worked w/ chums esbn to block multinational investment in lampost/kerb chargers so 56% dwellings in greater Dublin who don't have driveways for EV homechargers forced to drive ICE & one cause for collapse in GP vote.

Sailrail low CO2/NOX in 1990s but now high as hundreds of thousands in Dublin hold meetings with colleagues/clients each day in Brussels & pharma/manu companies outside & vv. Face to face with 'camera on' policy but few steps to homeoffice with huge screens. EV to Holyhead lower than diesel train.
March 30, 2025 at 12:41 AM
Nice route but ULEZ ensure low NOX in city & just 100k cars/trucks entering city of 12mill but 30k enter Galway with pop of just 80k. Block on Gal city Orbital & 3 huge P&R by @eamonryan.bsky.social caused collapse in Green Party support to 1.5% in Gal W&E in GE en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultra_L...

Let the "train take the strain" obsolete as most let their "chair & broadband take strain" as no company pays for conference travel & accommodation anymore.
Empty train seats would push your CO2 much higher than the 20% of flight but townhall teleconferences 0.000001% CO2 per participant of either.

Were curious why your esbn meetings never questioned only DSO in EU which insists on their meters per lampost charger blocking rollout of thousands of chargers to compete with their tiny 22kW network?Ire unique as excess power on lighting network since LED not used

Ire unique as no quadricycle classification so no sales. Cheap speed limited elsewhere but VRT & high insurance in Ire.
Also reason Ire almost lowest num of cars per capita in EU but most have no direct access to public transport & almost no P&R means mostly ICE driven further & into city centers.

GP ran D of trans & chair Oir committee for 5 yrs.ShellUbitricity installed 50k lampost/kerb chargers in UK with LAs matching grants.Announced exit from Irish Market last Apr & handed Sandyford & Malahide pilots back to DCC.Your colleagues celebrated defeat of bigoil. Many EV owners stopped voting GP

Regs have zero impact when multinational kerb/lampost cpos forced out of Irish market by actions of your anti-any-car party so 56% dwellings in greater Dublin without driveways can't transition to EV. Just 15% of sales BEV while 30 to 50% in UK/EU neighbours with road-transport CO2 rising in Ire.
March 19, 2025 at 9:35 AM
So why did your party & minister for transport slow transition to EV during 5 yrs in gov with drop in votes & you & multiple @greenpartyie.bsky.social blocking this account?
Ire & UK had same % of new cars=BEV but Ire dropped to 12% in 2024 while UK surged to 35%.

Open market to Lime & other large international bike-rentals with huge investment so suburbs can use underutilised bike lanes. Most in other EU cities rent bikes. State-run schemes don't work. Dublin-bikes same sites since 2010 & TFI schemes barely used as only in city centers & no park&ride access

You could learn alot from them re the Nordic electricity pool which is almost zeroCO2 using renewables hydro & nuclear with Finnish Greens in gov installing 5th Finnish reactor. Far lower cost to consumers than Ire which will be using 60%+ gas in grid fuel mix well into next decade.

Thought it was a good article highlighting teething issues for firsttime owner without a homecharger who has to wait to get one installed.
EVs have had high depreciation which was unfortunate for those who bought before big price drops but great value currently for someone buying 2ndhand EV.

Claim re trip 20% CO2 of flight rarely true as most Ryanair flights at capacity but trains to Euston diesel & 50% full & ships weight mainly trucks with few passengers so often CO2 per pasenger very high & close to flight. Most companies dont allow connections to their VPN via public mobiles or WiFi
February 7, 2025 at 6:33 PM
If CEO of multinational on trips to sites continually they would be pulled up for running up excess expenses & norm is luxury of face2face meetings just 1 or 2 per year. Far less stress & zeroCO2 meeting colleagues online and taking stroll after than stress on colleagues of someone awol for 2 days.

200k+ homes in solar PV rooftop revolution mainly in oneoff rural homes to avoid huge electricity bills. @eamonryan.bsky.social scrapped €600 battery grant & seai against batteries but many installed anyway to stay offgrid during day but now €2k for changeover to allow PV charge battery in powercuts
February 4, 2025 at 11:29 PM
Bashing Healy Raes who built Kilgarvan Wind Farm!
Ev bidirectional charging is for grid which is years away. Homes used V2L/V2H but limited to running lead into home as esbn regs don't allow connection to home. Also esbn block on PV charging home battery for thousands who have to pay €2k for rewire
February 4, 2025 at 7:46 PM
A large % of homes offgrid for 5+ days & so heatpump demand collapsed. All need backup.
Policy of PV without batteries & esb-n regs where PV stopped charging battery in powercut bonkers. Regs changed but thousands with old install paying €2k to fix. Grant needed for fix & reinstate €600 battery grant
