City orbital m.way would allow me & 133k outside city within 40km park at one of 3 planned P&R & bike/bus last 10km to city. Same method used in carfree Pontevedra & all dutch cites. Scattered pop pattern far from bustops gave up on magical simplistic GP solution with collapse in support to 1.5%

Recent EU build regs you were involved in need complete overhaul so homes can plug into EVs with V2L & remove esb-n block on solar-PV topping up home battery during power cuts.
New home or retrofit with heatpump needs 20kWh+ home battery as forced to leave those homes. Below w/ no power for 11 days.

2024 EU grid figures show Ire & Germany 60%+ from gas+coal & down zeroCO2 league but France & Nordic countries close to zeroCO2 grids.
Did ye ever challenge german greens re why they closed nuclear & replaced with LNG plants & new coal with huge inc in emissions @ciarancuffe.bsky.social @oliver.ie

Maybe Dublin w/ 1GWh/.02% of country's Wind gen needs to install Windfarms in Dublin bay to catch up with Healy-Rae county generating 1,664GWh wind in 2024.
Floating turbines off west coast wont be online by 2030.

Domestic 5kW of PV panels below would fully charge parked 70kWh EV although would take 2 weeks in Dec.
Avg 16kWh per 100km so 70kWh would cover 430km which is full zeroCO2 trip from Fishguard to London rather than diesel train from Holyhead to London which is nowhere near zeroCO2 per passenger.

Most of 130k below scattered pop pattern & no access to public-transport so Orbital & 3 P&R can't "induce" public-tranport users on to new Orbital. Orbital & 3 P&R would allow a big % to park & bus/bike last 8km to city as per NL with more cars per cap than Ire but swapping to bike in cities

City orbital would allow 130k living outside city within 40km to pick 1 of 3 P&R & swap to bus/bike/gluas to city once 20k+ P&R & free market for bike rentals.Orbital allowed Pontevedra go carfree as cars outside & works in NL that has higher levels of carownership than Ire ut drivers bike in cities

? Ire has almost worst EV charger rollout in EU below with increased road-transport emissions each year since 2022. Most of pop who will never have direct access to public-transport forced to leave home in ICE & limited P&R available to swap modes later while policy elsewhere is EV+public transport

Almost 50% of pop have no access as P&R access to new public-transport/bike-lanes limited to cities & connecting rural towns/villages but most live in hinterlands.

50% forced to use ICE rather than EV as below not addressed in manifesto.
Policy elsewhere is leave home in EV & change mode later

Negotiate reduction in Irish VAT on UK EV imports with EU

Stop esb-n requirement for esb meter per lampost self-metered chargers. Has forced largest international installer to exit Ire.

Allow EV owners without driveways to install cable chanels on path for offstreet charging
