Reading lots of books, escaping to different worlds, having many naps.
Woke up from surgery and told the whole team that they were very nice and one nurse in particular was the bestest. I was a bit high, yes, but also: they were all lovely!

My bluesky is mainly curated to "good news about books and authors I like" and it's giving me so much joy in this very weird and uncertain world at the moment.

Okay, we went from Youtube showing me ads about pregnancy tests to ads about menopause supplements. Youtube ads have no chill.

I’ve been struggling with intense insomnia for the last couple of weeks and am not allowed to take naps anymore. I’m furious to report that it worked.

If you need a big heap of hope right now, this podcast might be for you. It imagines the future by focusing on positive change and community. I found it incredibly healing and it changed my perspective on what's to come.
It's Hugo nominations time, so may I present my podcast 'Imagining Tomorrow' for consideration in the 'Best Related Work' category? It's available anywhere you listen to podcasts. It's all about imagining a better future by looking at the good stuff that is happening in the world right now.

It's Iced Caramel Latte season and the outside temperature can't convince me otherwise!

When you can't enjoy the book you are currently reading because you're waiting for @richardswanauthor.bsky.social 's new release and it's STILL NOT HERE!! 😭

There is a real possibility that "Knock Knock Open Wide" by @unshavedmouse.bsky.social will end up being my favourite book of the year.
A sapphic folk horror, set in Ireland with the best U2 group dance scene ever (almost cried!). This book is criminally underrated and more people need to read it!

None of the books I've read so far this year have been hits for me, so I'm going to bite the bullet and read Before Mars by @emmanewman.bsky.social , which I have been saving for a rainy day because I absolutely love that whole series. Wish my luck!

The amount of effort it took not to ask my psychiatrist how he enjoyed the @aptshadow.bsky.social and Dune books on the shelf in his office while telling him that I was doing okay with my ADHD was a lot. I deserve a nap.
