It's a wonder they haven't been engaged by a "good guy with a gun" yet. I also find it truly shameful they're not going after the people they SAID they wanted to target: gangs and hardened criminals. They're going after families, children and other brown people regardless of their legal status.

Heh, I have ADHD inattentive-type with high-functioning autism thrown in for flavor. It means the real world feels abrasive and uncomfortable so I retreat to fantasies and daydream a lot, and that social interactions are both difficult and overcompensated for a lot. Hyperfocus is a superpower, tho.

SO ENFORCE IT. DO something instead of posting on frickin' social media, because all this looks like is virtue signaling. GODS, I wish Democrats weren't such a bunch of useless fops. I have no interest in running for office, but it seems like someone with some balls SHOULD.

I think there was a sex scene in Warlords of Nin by Stephen R Lawhead that severely disturbed my 2nd or 3rd grader brain. I was a super-sheltered kid. Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card was the first book that AFFECTED me, though. That book was super formative for me when I found it in middle school.

And it largely won't matter for the average American consumer, since prices are going to continue their meteoric rise due to China not playing ball. The economy is still in an extraordinarily precarious situation that can easily lead to 1930s levels of poverty and unrest.

Given the bigotry we're still dealing with in this country over issues of gender identity and sexual attraction, however, I have concerns about his electability. I will 110% volunteer for his campaign, though, and help make it one hell of a fight.

It probably saved my life. I was on my way to getting bad enough to be admitted, and Paxlovid turned me around almost entirely within 48h. One year ago, I could've been in an ICU, on oxygen and waiting to die from COVID like so many others. I'm thankful this was available.

But that's the problem. It isn't just one idiot. We have dozens of them in federal government now, and a third of the country now radicalized under the MAGA flag.

Having met some recent/current high schoolers, any attempt to force emotional maturity and intelligence or cultural awareness of any kind on them will be met with derision and apathy in a way that only teenagers can generate.

This entire administration seems to be all about three things, really: accelerating the transfer of wealth to the top .1%, enacting revenge on anyone they see as an enemy, and punishing the out-groups they've been demonizing for years.
