Tariffs are a sales tax. Specifically a Wholesale Sales Tax. Traditionally components of a product are exempt to avoid double retail taxation.

With tariffs, I as a manufacturer, pay a Wholesale Sales Tax, make a product with higher material costs, and then my customers pay sales tax again.

You didn’t pay social security for your future needs. You paid for the needs at that time. Today people pay for the current needs.

It has always saved more than needed until recently. Now incoming taxes are behind current needs. (78% around) we could eliminate the cap and solve the revenue.

We also need the votes. I live in Indiana. We have a huge opposition. But ultimately our voters are loyal maga and gop branded.

We know there are reasonable voters in Indiana but we can’t get them to trust their vote can restore our democracy. Please vote!
