I think this is such a good thing. Seems to do pretty much everything? Especially for the price.

I’m sure it’s got a few downsides and niggles(?) but what a lot of car for the dough.

The consensus seems to be that almost everyone with your set up and solar/batteries too, stick with iOG. Most have ~18kWh battery but would size a bit bigger if they could although it works fine for them.
They all charge the cars (and the batteries) overnight (plus any extra slots given for the 🪫

So you would go on ‘Cosy’ most likely and charge & discharge the battery a couple of times a day or so when cheap. You only need enough battery storage to last you to the next cheap rate window

It’s quite easy and hands off to set up if you’re on say Octopus Basic Go.
Load shift everything you can to the off peek time 00:30 to 05:30 including charging the solar battery at 8p/kWh
Then export as much solar generation as you can for 15p.

Charge car etc off peak too.

For me, you need the battery to be able to cover your house useage (excluding car charging) during the peak hours (so 00:30-05:30 or 06:30)
With ~18kWh batteries, I just about manage that in the winter (wife’s use of tumble drier the biggest sucker of ⚡️ )

Good advice re oversizing number of panels if you can and putting some on both sounds and north aspects or whichever way your roof is oriented.
Go for an MCS accredited installer so you can sell your excess.
Battery is v important. 20kWh ish or more.
