Spotify Wrapped, but the only thing on repeat for the Music Industry after Brexit is paperwork and red tape 🎶

The chemical industry is the second-largest manufacturing industry in the UK. Rejoining the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) would simplify regulation and improve long-term stability for the sector.

Spotify wrapped is out, but the music industry is still wrapped in Brexit bureaucracy. We must rejoin the Single Market and Creative Europe.

Brexit means we are losing out on some of the biggest talent in the world, and some of the UK's biggest talent are emigrating to Europe. We must restore freedom of movement.

'In these times we would not take control by turning inward. We would surrender it'. We couldn't agree more.

Joining Erasmus+ is essential for restoring young people's freedom, allowing them to study, work, and explore different cultures across Europe. This is a positive step.

Brexit has increased costs, increased red tape, and slowed employment growth in the music industry. People from across the industry have been affected, from artists and crew unable to tour, to musicians and DJs who are losing out on bookings.

Erasmus+ show what happens when opportunity is made accessible rather than exclusive. Rejoining the programme would change lives and strengthen the diverse future of European innovation.

Even Starmer has acknowledged that we need to move closer to the EU, but his Government have offered no serious plan to make this happen. If we want to boost trade, we must rejoin the Single Market and Customs Union.

Human rights law exists to protect people when power fails them. Walking away from that protection would leave the most vulnerable exposed.

Brexit is the only U-turn the government should be doing.

At Birmingham’s Christmas Market, traders are telling the same story to us again and again. Behind the lights and stalls, small businesses are still paying the price of Brexit, with business now harder, slower and more expensive.
November 27, 2025 at 1:45 PM
The Chancellor wants to boost trade, but refuses to commit to working with the EU to reduce the cost of exporting goods. A serious strategy for growth would reduce barriers, not increase them.

As the Budget concludes, Sir John Major's words are more relevant than ever. Both the Labour Government and Conservative opposition are being wretchedly timid in their policy aspirations. They must confront the consequences of Brexit if they want to prevent further damage.
November 26, 2025 at 4:03 PM
Ministers may keep dodging the topic, but the Treasury's own figures prove that Brexit was a mistake. Weaker growth and higher costs are embedded in every forecast, and the economic wreckage is now impossible to hide.
November 26, 2025 at 3:23 PM
The Chancellor wants to "boost trade, increase investment, and champion innovation", but is failing to fix one of the principal causes of the economic crisis: Brexit. The Government must urgently repair our relationship with Europe, or else forthcoming Budgets will continue to bear the brunt.

The OBR is clear that the UK’s trade slump is being made worse by Brexit, which continues to drag on growth at the very moment we need the opposite.
November 26, 2025 at 1:02 PM
The OBR could not be clearer today. Weak growth is tied to Brexit, which they now expect will leave UK trade 15% smaller in the long term.
