Apparently Germany lacks money to reduce the tax burden on electricity prices for everyone, but has the money to pay for a few short years (until the next election) subsidies to the electricity bills of a few selected industries.

(Co-)firing of ammonia is known to lead to increased NOx emissions.

German metal company trialed co-firing NH3 + fossil gas and decided against it due to NOx emissions (and degradation of product quality):

Is green methanol an overlooked storage option for the electricity grid? @nworbmot.bsky.social and @euronion42.bsky.social argue that it sometimes has advantages. Storing H2 is difficult. Methanol is liquid and much easier to store. #methanol #storage
