The PTlife account made a new post at four in the morning with the text, Insomnia win? and a photo of Ren’s Grey Pigeon figure, holding the paper Shido up by the throat with his right hand, left fist drawn back to punch it in the face. Ten minutes later, Akechi shot Ren a chat in their private thread, saying, ‘Yes, that is my usual state. Nightmares?’ 'Yes,’ Ren admitted. 'Helping Futaba make questionable life choices’ 'pictures of world’s worst father ON MY COMPUTER blech blech,’ Futaba added in Ren and Akechi’s private chat. 'Why?’ Akechi asked. 'The alternative is apparently an action figure of him,’ Ren supplied. 'NO,’ Akechi sent, and Ren and Futaba devolved into useless giggles. Once she’d settled back down a bit, Futaba asked, 'do you want one for red eagle?’ 'No,’ was Akechi’s immediate response. Followed shortly by, 'Wait. Pathetically on his knees, begging for his life?’

There's a stereotype(or a bit) about bands where the bassist and drummer are always fucking. I was talking with a friend about how I'd incidentally played into that for the band fic I'm writing, and was then informed that they are in fact, a drummer, and their partner is in fact, a bassist

“BZZT!” Futaba yelled, and Ren wasn’t the only one to flinch at the sudden volume. “Wrong name!” “…what?” Akechi said, staring at her. Ren blinked, and then recalled, “You called her ‘Futaba-chan’ earlier.” “Yes?” Akechi agreed, still looking confused. Ren raised his eyebrows at him, and then asked, “Who gave me shit for not using his given name?” Akechi closed his eyes. “That was…entirely different circumstances.” “Too bad!” Futaba yelled, getting up on her knees and pointing a finger at him. “Family name permissions revoked, you can only use my given name, now.” “Is that how this works?” Haru asked in a too-sweet tone. “No,” Akechi ground out, at the same time that Futaba called, “Phantom Thieves new rule! If you use someone’s given name, even in jest, and they don’t immediately tell you off, you must use their given name from then out.” Ren let out an amused hum, then said, “In private, only. In public, hold to the expected.” Haru hummed, a considering glint in her eyes, as she stared at Akechi, and Ren had a feeling his boyfriend was going to be spending the next while dodging attempts to get him to use her given name, until he finally gave in. Whether or not he would return the favour… “It’s not reciprocal,” he added.

Ren smiled. “I made coffee cake,” he offered, and Akechi’s whole face lit up. “There’s two slices upstairs for us, and the rest of it is in the fridge, boxed up so you can take it home, if you want.” “Ah,” Akechi murmured, leaning his weight against Ren again, pushing him back against the wall. “Trying to fatten me up for something, Joker?” Ren hummed. “Should have known a detective of your calibre couldn’t be fooled for long,” he said, and Akechi’s eyes glinted, the curve of his smile just visible in the darkness of the ground floor. “Your present is up there, too.” “Oh? The cake isn’t my present?” Ren shrugged. “Maybe I like spoiling you,” he said. Akechi huffed a quiet laugh against his mouth, brushed another kiss against his lips, and then pulled away and headed for the stairs at the back of the café, steps confident, despite the darkness. Like he was as comfortable in Leblanc as Ren, himself, was. Ren didn’t rush to follow, taking the time to lock the door before striding back towards the stairs. “You got a new bed!” Akechi called, sounding delighted, before going slightly wry as he added, “And a truly hideous couch; is that for Kitagawa, or was he involved?”
