Can Pop Music save the world? Let's find out. 🎵🎸 Dad. Democrat. Dog guy. Trying to surround myself with a 10-foot mini-climate of good vibes wherever I go. There are some real assholes out there who sure are making it difficult! 💙🌴☕🍺📺
Funny, suspenseful, well-acted, well-written...and a positive Christmas message promoting family togetherness. AND Santa is real! There is no shortage of violence, but it's clever and, dare I say?..."fun". Highly recommended! David Harbour as the best Santa ever.

Agreed. And I am WAY more annoyed than I should be by the people who say, "Yeah, but even though I know it's AI, it's still funny, so I give it a like." No, you just don't want to admit it tricked you.

What does that mean, "...from his prison cell"?

Those basic ideals of being kind to others are the core teachings of Christ and are how I try to live. Everything since then has been bullshit people have added to it. But if you need me to be the face of Christian Nationalism so you can tell me how evil Christians are, go ahead. Have fun, I'm out.

Beyond that, people flock toward different denominations depending on what they think is important...local charity...purity of health...whatever. I don't care about all the 40,000 variations as long as they aren't focusing on things like hating LGBTQ+ or forcing the 10 Commandments into schools.

There's not an extremely specific set of beliefs. It's really pretty basic: Be kind to one another. Don't be a dick. Help people who need your help. Mind your own business. Protect people who aren't able to protect themselves. I don't have any authority to declare that, those are just the basics.

I'll never understand it. So many Christians I know and respect are equally confused. And angry.
July 20, 2025 at 8:25 PM
Because I don't want the Christianity that I believe in--based on compassion, forgiveness and kindness--to be blamed for all of the evil that people do, falsely claiming it was "in the name of Jesus." They did those things for themselves and then blamed Jesus after they got what they wanted.

These days, not much use, actually. When someone tells me they're a Christian (like on their business card, for fuck's sake) I don't give it much weight. Christianity seems to attract those who's nature is to be judgmental, authoritative and excluding of others. That's not the way it started though.

Yes, I agree...the church as an organization can be as political and as insincere and as greedy and as wicked any corporation. These pictures prove that. But to say that the church reflects the soul of Christianity is, unfortunately, inaccurate.
July 20, 2025 at 5:57 PM
The church as an organization is not the same thing as the actual faith of Christianity. The church, like any enterprise run by people, can be as corrupt and insincere as any corporation that has a Mission Statement. They put it in the employee handbook, but that doesn't mean they follow it.

Wrong. Atheists don't believe there is a god. Many Christians might actually believe in god, but they think merely saying so is good enough. Saying you're a Christian without living a life according to the beliefs of Christianity does not make you a Christian.

It IS about love and compassion, but those responsible for genocide are not following the true meaning and spirit of the religion. Hitler said he was a Christian, but he was not.
July 20, 2025 at 5:41 PM
You asked what faith, then, do I think they are. I said they probably aren't any faith. That does not make them atheists, that makes them confused about what they think it means to be Christian. I'm going to leave this alone, because you aren't hearing me.
July 20, 2025 at 5:38 PM
I'm not saying Christians are perfect nor am I saying that only Christians have a moral compass. I said people who claim to be Christians but continue to do un-Christian-like things are not really Christians, even if they think they are.
July 20, 2025 at 5:38 PM
I used a Google search, because I, myself don't really know the interpretation of that verse, so I had to look it up.
July 20, 2025 at 5:18 PM
No, because I don't have a negative opinion of atheists. I'm accusing them of not having any moral compass other than serving their own selfish passions & hatreds but claiming to be Christians--and maybe even believing that they are--because they don't know what it really means to be a Christian.
July 20, 2025 at 5:17 PM
There's a more layered interpretation of that verse and just the surface reading of it...

What would make you say that I would think that? I'd say every single one of those January 6 people were Trump supporters. I didn't say someone who claims to be Christian but does evil deeds must be from another faith. I don't know where you got that.
July 20, 2025 at 5:11 PM
"...anyone who does not hate his own children cannot be his follower." I don't know that verse. Surely that is not the correct interpretation of what he said.
July 20, 2025 at 5:08 PM
I'd say the believe in The Church of Themselves. I don't think they're truly aligned with any religion. And if you think I'm a Trump supporter, then I am a terrible communicator. I don't know of anything I've said that would make you think that, but I assure you I am absolutely not.
July 20, 2025 at 5:06 PM
I agree 100%. Anyone waving the cross is surely NOT harmless. You and I hate the same people: Those Trump supporters online whose profile picture is a cross. The people in church who would disown their child if they came out. I just don't think of them as Christians, but I understand why you do.
