Robert, EU OS project lead, has met yesterday Dirk Schrödter, Minister for Digitalization and Head of the State Chancellery Schleswig-Holstein (SH), in Brussels. SH will organise a public tender for a #Linux OS. To be seen to which extend #EU_OS can be reflected in the tender specification! 🤔

After #sactions on judges of the International Criminal Court (#ICC), the US administration considers now sanctions on EU officials working on the #DigitalServiceAct #DSA:

Thanks to our network of supporters, #EU_OS benefits from early access to a study from the Commission on the in-house use of Linux on the workspace. It is from 2005 and was revealed through an request for access to documents.

The goal is to raise awareness about EU OS amongst government officials and the open source community. 1/2

Day 1 of #hackdays2025: #EU_OS has started with possibly the biggest team of 14 people from several countries. To build the proof of concept, the team works on several sub tasks:

- building the EU OS image
- setting up full-disk encryption
- setting up FIDO2 hardware key to unlock encryption
