From the beginning of this year, 2025, I have determined that it's a year of learning the history of where they came from.
I'm biding my time to afford classes again, but in the meantime I'm making sure that I know the fight of the people who came before me and their kin.

I also started to sit with the understanding that I'm the result of generations of Southern women who have had to fight to survive.
I'm not looking away from their trauma. They did not have the capability to sit with it, so I'm doing it for them.

2024 became a year that I started to listen to my gut a bit more and reconnect to a passion I had given up 10 years prior.
I also stopped hiding my accent and started to be unapologetically Southern. I'm not pretending it's shameful to be Southern and a lot of my art is related to it now.

Poor people in Appalachia are not your enemies. The fucking billionaires stripping the government for parts are.

Trying to maintain excitement for returning to school while trying to figure out funding. My own descent into subjects I would be learning in a classroom is at least some comfort at how long this is taking.
