His constant movement and the cutting seemed so important in this one, it opened up so much room. The offense just looked so much more Warriors-y whenever he was on the court in the second half.

Seriously seems like the sweetest person, I can’t believe how well he handles defeat in public and how calm he is throughout these matches

It is one of the weirdest basketball stories ever to me, it just has ceased to be a consistent threat for her.

She was great! I think she’s gonna have a really great year, she looks super comfortable

I’d have to watch again to really be sure. But didn’t it feel like OKC basically did that all series, especially when they went small? Or did you feel like it was more this game?

Oh really
May 18, 2025 at 10:20 PM
Personally I don’t really like this, especially as someone rooting for Denver, but it’s a longstanding part of the game. Denver showed they could play through it in other games this series, not tonight unfortunately.

Part of the OKC magic is they put the refs in a tough position—they game Caruso a pretty soft foul when he “knocked over” Jokic, then if he just keeps doing the same thing and more what are they supposed to do? They want to let the game flow.

It felt to me while watching it that while the officiating was too lax in that stretch, the Nuggets response to the physicality and lack of calls was the bigger issue. Jokic in particular looked like he did in games 3-4, just too frustrated to settle the team in the midst of the onslaught.

Totally agree. Hard series to officiate and I think they’ve done a good job.
May 18, 2025 at 8:11 PM
I think it’s in general crazy to say refs are “against” any team. They are clearly ok with allowing a certain amount of contact, especially in the post off-ball, and I think it’s fair to say at times that has benefited OKC.
May 18, 2025 at 8:10 PM
I don’t have any particular issue with the officiating, but I do think given the way the teams play and their foul rates during the regular season it’s fair to expect Denver to generally win the free throw battle by a comfortable amount

Game 2 and 5
May 18, 2025 at 7:59 PM
Yes?
May 18, 2025 at 7:58 PM
Yup. Game swung with Wallace and Wiggins hitting shots off the bench for OKC

Yeah I mean it’s not a documentary

I’m of course referring to the major motion picture

What book?

Why would he be better served getting less shots against 2nd unit defenders? Do you mean in the regular season for development? It seems like in the playoffs it’d be great to get an offensive weapon like him more looks against 2nd units.

Then you’d probably really like House of Leaves

Isn’t shifting ball handling and playmaking duties to Van Fleet basically that shift? It felt like they leaned even more into that in the playoffs. I’m not convinced Green can be the main playmaker/scorer by any means, but it felt to me like the team minimized his usage quite a bit in the playoffs.

He was AMAZING for 5 or so minutes there in the 3rd, so excited to watch him going forward.
May 5, 2025 at 2:59 AM
I agree but also 2 free throws in this game with they way they’re playing him is certainly something
