September was busy. I never had a chance to share any of the works that I completed in preparation for the festival on October 3rd. October has been equally busy. This painting will be on its way to its forever home, shortly. "Monte Rio Bridge" oil, 18x24 inches, framed in a poplar floating frame.

I'm not a selfie guy, really. You won't get too many of these from me, but I had to take a headshot for an upcoming (soon to be revealed) podcast appearance promo, so I thought I'd share. I turn 47 in less than two weeks. I'm still looking okay, right? Right??? LOL

“Rio Theater #2”

A companion piece to my earlier vertical composition of this beloved Guerneville landmark, “Rio Theater #2” takes a wider view, the vintage quonset hut against the redwoods and a painterly sky.

Part of my new Affordable Landscape Series, this small oil painting pays tribute to a beloved landmark. Painted in a mood reminiscent of American Tonalism, “Rio Theater” captures the iconic Russian River cinema nestled in the redwoods.

This is the first of many in a series of affordable landscape paintings based around locations that are well loved by locals and tourists alike. "River Inn" 6X8 inches, oil on cradled birch panel. I will mainly be targeting the tourist market with these over the course of the Summer.

Just some weird shit from my subconscious as I let my mind wander in the 'ol sketchbook.

A little peek into my sketchbook. I often compose things within a set frame, much like storyboarding, rather than going all over the page. It really forces me to consider the composition as a whole from the get go. These start out very loose/gestural, and then get tighter as I go.

Hard to believe she was completely terrified of us only a couple weeks ago. Now, she doesn't want to leave our laps! This morning, anytime I try to open my phone, she paws it away like "No, no. Not phone time. It's me time."

BTW, this lovely show that I am in is still up and running through to the end of March. Lucky Cat Gallery 620 South Main Street, DTLA. I highly recommend checking it out. Great stuff!

For those who are unaware, this is happening today. Despite my being 6'6", I assure you, I am not a big box. Neither are my fellow artists. Most of us also accept cash! ;)

My great grandfather's tailoring scissors. One of my most prized possessions. I wear size 13 shoe, to give you an idea of the size of my hand and the scissors. These are more than 100 years old, super sharp, and very functional. Anytime I cut canvas for stretching you'll see these bad boys come out.

She's very difficult to photograph right now. Constantly moving. Sudden moves make her bolt. Here she is. 5 months old Say Say (her actual name is Sailor, but she responds to Say Say). #KittyLove

My partner and I were so impressed with all of the work at Fun Dip. Sometimes group shows can be a mish mosh of different skill levels. Not this one! Everyone is at the top of their game, and it shows. Fun Dip is at Lucky Cat Gallery, 620 South Main Street, DTLA, and runs through the end of March.

Just a friendly reminder that Fun Dip is up and running at Lucky Cat Gallery, 620 South Main Street, DTLA. It will continue to run through the end of March. Stop on by if you live in LA or are passing through. Much more rewarding than a visit to Disneyland!

Looking forward to opening this tonight.

One thing that I love about this show at Lucky Cat Gallery, 620 South Main Street, DTLA, is that often, group shows can be a mish mosh of different skill levels. Not this one! Every single painting is strong as all hell. You don't want to miss it!

These works of mine are currently on display at Lucky Cat Gallery, as part of their Fun Dip show, 620 South Main Street, DTLA. If you happen to be attending tomorrow's #dtlaartwalk you will definitely want to include this on your list of stops.

A couple of shots of me at Saturday's opening for Fun Dip that my partner took, and a selfie of us that I took. It's been ten years together and we still look cute. I think so anyway...

This has to be one of the strongest - well curated shows I've seen in a long time. Not just because I'm in it, either. The artists are superb. I'm humbled and proud to have my name next to theirs. All of the paintings in this show are lit. I am truly honored.

On view at Lucky Cat Gallery. My new painting that I've been keeping a secret until tonight. "Singularity Savior" Oil on Cradled Birch Panel, 32 X 22 inches, $1,800.00 I also have three other pieces in this show. You'll just have to come see.
