The conditioner soak brought back a lot of shine and rehydrated the mid section of the hair. Unfortunately I think I still ought to rewig her. Years of dry brushing as a child/teen has resulted in a lot of breakage, and the short hairs have been shedding off for years (glue giving out)

Ok i did a little more research and the fabric softener is an often-recommended but overall bad idea. Leaves a residue film and attracts dust easily. I washed her hair in dish soap first and now we're doing a mild conditioner soak. Obsessed with how unhinged this looks
