Let's hope that one day we get the kind of cycling infrastructure enjoyed by the Dutch - designed to be used by riders aged 8 to 80, and to connect every city, town and village.

That same Range Rover bought new in France today would be subject to a one-off 60,000 euro VED charge. Similar retrospective cahrges for secondhand cars built since 2015 are incoming too.

here in Europe we're moving (at a different pace depending on the individual country) towards widespread 20mph limits in urban areas - a speed which lends itself towards lighter vehicles. Having said that, yes - walking, cycling and public transport are always preferable.
