Magpies are another animal I have used in my art a lot. I love these tuxedo clad opportunists, they are quite striking in sunlight with shades of blues, greens and purples on their seemingly black feathers. Here is a colloection of magpie art made throughout the years.

My all time favorite garden bird, the long-tailed tit. They are just such cute little fluffballs, their beaks so tiny it´s almost ridiculous. Had to paint these little critters in my Steamline Journal!
Watercolor and a bit of colored pencil

Working on this barn owl in acrylics. Lots of details to do still, but the colors are getting into place.

Another collection of paintings I have made during my career. The grey wolf is a definite favorite of mine, they are just such gorgeous and interesting animals, and I think they are the species that have appeared on my canvas the most. :)

Some bird species show up more in my art than others. Here is another collection of paintings I have made during the last few years, this time of the magnificent and mysteious raven. Paintings with this bird naver stay long on the shelf. 😊
These are made in watercolour and in acrylics.

Had a Eurasian pygmy owl against my window last week! It took 10 minutes to get to its senses, before it flew away unharmed.
Of course I had to paint it, so did some watercolor studies in my Steamline sketchbook. I am still so chuffed about this special meeting, never seen these owls alive before!

The bluetit (I am writing it as one word, or else Facebook might give me trouble 😅) is also a recurring bird in my art works. These little yellow and blue fluffballs are regular visitors to my garden, and I quite adore them. So here is a collection of paintings I did over the last few years.

Another favorite bird to paint for me is the mighty Gyrfalcon. Here are some watercolour and acrylic paintings I did over the last few years. Gyrfalcons live here in Norway, far up north. They are the biggest, and according to to some, most powerful falcons in the world.

Some birds just show up more often in my art than others, because well, let´s be honest, they are just awesome. The peregrine falcon is one of those birds, it just makes such a wonderful subject for paintings and especially portraits! Here is some work done over the last few years.

Barn Owl studies in my Steamline sketchbook. Such pretty owls, but every bird artist knows, those pesky feathers, each with small spots and that little eye on the end, make for challenging painting!
