This kind of language isn’t accidental. By elevating one immigrant as exceptional, it reinforces the idea that dignity is conditional—granted only if someone fits a preferred image, country, or accent. That framing dehumanizes everyone else by comparison.

That quote reflects how afraid and frustrated people feel right now — but we need accountability grounded in facts and due process rather than just angry slogans.
"They had the professional demeanor of criminals".

This should be said every time ICE is mentioned.

Big tech isn’t neutral here — when communities are trying to share information about enforcement and safety, pulling tools and blocking links matters. That’s not just “policy.” (Axios)
Apple & Google removed ICE tracking apps in their app stores.

TikTok reportedly suppressed videos criticizing ICE & the shooting of Alex Pretti.

Meta blocked Facebook groups tracking ICE & links to a database of agents that the government wants to keep secret.

Big Tech is enabling Trump's regime.

This claim isn’t meant to be true—it’s meant to delegitimize. If you can convince people that outrage is rented, you never have to reckon with why so many are angry in the first place.
Trump keeps claiming that the protesters are being paid. I have news for him. The only way people will go see Melania’s movie is if they pay them. 🔄

It’s striking how many people with real influence and public responsibilities find time for a glossy premiere tied to personal branding—while insisting there’s no bandwidth for the crises affecting everyday Americans. Priorities speak loudly.

What’s fueling outrage isn’t just isolated headlines — it’s the bigger picture: federal enforcement in residential neighborhoods under the “metro surge,” documented fear among children and families, and deaths linked to ICE encounters. Those are serious issues that deserve oversight and policy change
MINNESOTA — Mom goes outside to warm up her car, ICE grabs her: "Please, my car kids are all alone in the house!”

So nothing has changed and Homan was just to put a new face on the cruelty, got it

The deaths and injuries tied to these ICE operations have shocked many Minnesotans and raised real questions about training, escalation, and oversight. But advocating violence or framing this in terms of warfare on civilians undermines the legitimate calls for justice and invites harsher crackdowns.
Minnesota will be under terrorist siege until ICE leaves. People have a right to defend themselves from this political assault.

Companies will say layoffs are about efficiency, but priorities tell the real story. If there’s $40M for a CEO and $75M for a prestige documentary, there was a choice made—and it wasn’t in favor of the workers who built the company.
Amazon just announced another round of 16,000 layoffs, months after it laid off 14,000 workers.

Reminder that Amazon CEO Andy Jassy raked in over $40M in 2024.

And Amazon is spending at least $75 million producing and promoting the Melania documentary.

The system is rigged.

If former presidents can seek massive payouts from taxpayers over internal government failures during their own tenure, that’s a dangerous precedent. Power shouldn’t come with a lifetime option to invoice the public.
Breaking Bloomberg:

Trump just sued the IRS and Treasury Department for $10 billion over the unauthorized disclosure of his tax returns to the press during his first term in office — potentially putting American taxpayers on the hook for a massive payout. www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

It’s worth asking who gets to define a “golden age.” When the loudest applause comes from billionaires and insiders, it raises questions about whose problems are actually being fixed—and whose are being ignored.

The rule of law only works if enforcement is independent of political pressure. Investigating officials because they speak for their constituents undermines public trust and sets a precedent that should worry people across the political spectrum.
Frey: "In Mpls, we heard them say they'll end this siege when we hand over voter rolls. The DOJ is being used as a weapon. They're investigating me and several other local elected officials not because we've done something wrong because we speak on behalf of our constituents.

History shows that progress happens when people push hardest at the moment power starts to wobble. Accountability doesn’t arrive on its own—it’s forced by collective insistence that harm, fear, and dehumanization are not legitimate tools of governance.
The tide is turning. Which means now is the time to push harder than ever.

The aging jug feels like a witness to all these paintings—its slight leak and soft green glow adding a sense of time passing. Paired with the florals, it turns the piece into something more than botanical study; it feels like memory rendered in light and pigment.
One of my larger flower watercolours, done without body colour and featuring my most painted green glass jug (which is very old and leaking slightly from the handle. I'll get it to make a guest appearance in a new painting this year.
