School/retreat I organised with @intp-science.bsky.social. No publications, big name speakers, $$ benefit. Just people - PhD students, young professionals, academics, independent researchers, activists, artists, +2 teenagers and 1 toddler - exploring science, creativity, and the beautiful Pyrenees 💗
I have direct experience with several of these orgs (volunteering myself + via my close friends' & partner's work). They provide vital support and they are run by people with simultaneously the biggest hearts and the best "get sh*t done" attitude that I've ever met. If you care, please donate.
Over the last three years, we have lost partner org after partner org in Europe due to funding cuts to civil society actors- especially ones assisting refugees and migrants.
Yet, the need is as high as ever. That is why we have joined the Where We Rise movement: buff.ly/V9ZGeGO

I've really enjoyed the facilities day @cruk-cityoflondon.bsky.social and all the interactive discussions! Again, I've just started the job, and it's my first one in a core facility/STP, but that made it even more interesting for me to engage in this, learn more, and meet great colleagues

First time I'm "officially" #TeamMassSpec during a big mass spec/proteomics conference but not actually there: #ASMS2025 hasn't even properly started yet, and I'm already having FOMO looking at BlueSky this morning - assuming that's normal..?

I haven't been following the US closely, but looking for a dataset to use in a kids science camp just stumbled upon this. I don't have a stake or even a strong opinion in trans debate but find it harrowing. Similarly to UK Tory govt some time ago declaring Rwanda safe. War is peace, hate is love?

On my way back from #EAGxNordics. I've been sceptical about several aspects of effective altruism but have to say: the conference was way more exciting than I expected (incl lots of #cellag chat) and so much better designed than any academic one I've been to: 1to1 meetings & nap room ftw!
