They're really going to try this shit.

They will not stop until they meet organized power. They have no limiting principles. You can't negotiate over your own domination.
Of course if you didn't care about the law or ethics you'd want the people trained on how the data is structured to be in the organization where the data is going to be used.

Even if you disagree with what they say, we can all at least look up immigration law and money laundering law. At a minimum any government worthy of legitimacy owes its citizens an on the record definition of what exactly they mean by "illegal ideas" before they crack down on speech.
For whatever reason ICE doesn't have a Bluesky account. So I thought I'd drop this in here. Note the Free Speech crowd has now put the good folks at ICE in charge of stopping, detaining and deporting "Ideas".

They are innovating new techniques in the weaponization of federal data and financial coercion. Establishing the precedent that social security numbers can be revoked, without notification or due process, based on a unspecified claim of "terrorism" puts every dissenter in this country at risk.
The Trump administration is moving to cancel lawfully obtained Social Security numbers in an effort to pressure immigrants to “self deport” by cutting people off from financial services like bank accounts and credit cards, along with access to government benefits. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/10/u...

A private contractor filling out some paperwork is enough to get you disappeared off the street under this administration. No oath of office, no badge, just a disposable gig worker. This regime of law enforcement fundamentally lacks even the flimsiest pretext of legitimacy.
Share this everywhere. I believe there should be immigration enforcement. I believe there shld be an immigration enforcement agency. But this one is simply lawless to the core. That fact is just inescapable.

Clear inent to remove all technical barriers to an integrated surveillance system using all the data the Federal government has. The only constraints to highly targeted state action will be laws and the ethics of the people running the queries, and we know where they stand on ethics and laws.
The IRS is nearing an agreement to allow immigration officials to use tax data to confirm the names and addresses of people suspected of being in the country illegally, culminating weeks of negotiations over using the tax system to support President Trump’s mass deportation campaign.

There is absolutely no reason to believe this will stop with immigrants once it is established. Per @404media.co they are already integrating ICE data with IRS data. Those connections will go both ways, allowing them to deploy whatever systems they test out with ICE on anyone who files tax returns.
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services will begin screening immigrants’ social media accounts for antisemitic content as grounds to deny visa and green-card applications, the agency announced — a move that immigration law and free-speech experts condemn as an alarming federal overstep.

As we saw in the story from @404media.co on the ICE database, Palantir would be able to use this data to precisely define individuals and organizations for targeted harassment and government intervention. This is precisely what you would do to build a Chinese style system of social control.

This is a critically important story demonstrating the dangers of what can happen with a modern integrated database unchecked by ethics or laws. If the government connects everything it knows about people, authoritarians will be able to keyword search with precision for targets of oppression.

Our tax dollars-our shared prosperity-are being weaponized against our own citizens for the benefit of an aspiring dictator. They want to rule by personal power and the will of one man, not by laws that apply equally to all. This will only get worse until they meet collective resistance.

This is the clearest and most cogent explanation of the plan that any political leader has been able to articulate. The regime has no concept of the common good. They don't care about people. They are turning our shared prosperity into weaponized money to threaten people into submitting.
Those trying to understand the tariffs as economic policy are dangerously naive.

No, the tariffs are a tool to collapse our democracy. A means to compel loyalty from every business that will need to petition Trump for relief.

Money is being weaponized for ideological purposes. They are telling us to not care about the money we've earned, to trust them to take care of all the money stuff because only they can understand the higher purpose of making everyone poorer.
Harris Faulkner on how Trump should talk to "401k people" worried about tariffs hurting them: "Look, when this nation used to go to war, people in this country would support the war effort with their materials at home and making things for weaponry. We have to do 100% buy in over this bumpy period"
