We need an Abolish Ice rally that’s nationwide and attended by more millions than has ever been recorded. This is not a party line issue it’s an American issue.

As the monuments to the Confederacy attests, we tried wishful thinking and it didn’t work. It only enabled and legitimized nostalgia for a world that never existed and provided our enemies with a fertile base from which they would launch their next assault upon our nation. Movement Conservatism.

the Conservative Intelligentsia, the Oligarchs providing the funding can claim no such distance from conscious intent. They have no plausible deniability. So what’s to be done with them? How do we hold them accountable and reconcile with their power and influence moving forward?

Certainty takes a focused effort whereas faith requires only the willingness to believe. It’s essentially wishful thinking. This, to my mind, accounts for the rank and file. It doesn’t relinquish them of responsibility but it does provide an approach to reconciliation. The Party’s leadership,

as it is today, they do not. The overwhelming majority of people calling themselves Republicans are loyal and patriotic Americans. That’s not a difficult conclusion to come to. They are here amongst us and have been all our lives. They just believe in faith more than they believe in certainty.

If you held that the whole of them were traitors, what then? No easy answer there. So next you would ask if that’s an accurate assessment, could they all have the necessary conscious intent to make an informed and rational argument for overthrowing the government? The answer then is the same

American conservatism is an aberration, funded by and for the benefit of oligarchs. It’s duplicitous and immoral and if someone who buys into it comes to see the error in that then I will certainly invite them to join me at the table.

But people do change, we all, on good days, learn from our mistakes. I reject binary thinking so I’m not going to say people can’t change. In the primary I don’t think he’d get my vote but if he wins the primary I would certainly vote for him. Conservatism, honest conservatism has much to offer

Yes. And I admit I take issue with the never Trump Republicans on that very issue. Especially the operatives, that strata of political players who strategize and run political campaigns and then the PR once their candidates are in office..

Disagree. Our political parties were healthier when there were liberal republicans and conservative democrats amongst their ranks. Binary thinking gets us nowhere and its predominance in the current zeitgeist is due to Movement Conservatives desire to kill free speech.
