So building on my previous post one might ask about the membership of the Republican Party as to their state of mind. Are they all traitors? Well unfortunately it’s complicated. It’s not dissimilar to what was asked about inhabitants of the Confederacy after the Civil War concluded.

The only thing Bari Weiss exposed in leaving the NYT is that she doesn’t have what it takes to be a contender. That’s what Larry Ellison found appealing about her, she’ll buckle under the right kind of pressure, so she’s not really any kind of threat to the oligarchy.

The so called moderate republicans must think they can save the Republican Party from itself. They are mistaken. Maybe they know this. Maybe that’s why they’re holding on so tightly. They refuse to accept that this administration’s assault on our democracy is an assault upon them as well.
