Absolutely egregious behavior by local authcoms now using unwitting organizers to launder their reputations and mislead new people into believing they are both safe and respected.

YEARS of attempts to mitigate their dangerous behavior in private has failed. Their behavior has only escalated.
-After AK was publicly outed as a domestic abuser (which the crew had known for years), they released materials to try to "prove" his redemption, which included citing that he attenteded anti-patriarchy reading groups which had already publicly said he was still patriarchal and he had minimized his abuse. -Created a hierarchal structure based on the idea of “listening to Black people” which they twisted so much it meant things like obeying a white woman named Katie who somehow represented the will of all Black Portlanders within their chats. -This group also has extremely poor security practices that put others in danger. Members of their crew wear the same “bloc” to most actions and are easily identifiable, their chats are huge and many discussing sensitive information are open to join (ask me how I know). Some of their “protest security crew” have even shown up to actions wearing ankle monitors and taken items from the scene of a mass shooting. I strongly recommend not working with this crew. They have endagered many comrades through intentionally authoritarian actions and through their carelesness. If you do choose to work with this crew, know that many others in the Portland radical scene will refuse to work in spaces they're in, potentially undermining your project and affecting your reputation. Anarchists stop organizing with auth-comms!!

PORTLAND: these are the authoritarian communists who have wreaked havoc across many spaces— harassing DV survivors, trying to rob the Normandale mass shooting victims, engaging in dangerous opsec practices, peace policing, deliberately spreading disinformation to sow division, and more.

This is a warning about a group of authoritarian communists and their liberal followers who have repeatedly wreaked havoc on various radical groups in Portland since 2020. They are currently trying to cozy up to a new batch of young organizers and position themselves as trusted, seasoned activists. I want to be clear that they are NOT trusted. They are hated by many groups in Portland which is why they continually try to get in with those newer to radical spaces. The following is a brief list of SOME of the things they have done. A few names of various levels of association with the group to help determine if you're working with them: Freddie, Lichen, Teapot, Geordie, Katie, AK, Weeze, 27, Betty -Hid their ideology (authoritarian communist) from people in their groups.  -Tried to steal money intended for victims of a mass shooting, which would defraud thousands of people who donated explicitly to those victims. Their demands included for some reason immediately paying for a member of their crew’s (a white woman) cell phone bill. They directly stated that the murder was a fundraising opportunity for their own community programs as well as the National BLM Organization. They went on to claim that by not agreeing to these terms, the victims were racists who were “not for BLM" -Have positioned themselves as the cops of many marches in Portland, open carrying and peace policing to prevent radical direct action in favor of deference to them. This has even included *pointing guns directly at and violently restraining teenagers* for doing graffiti. -This police behavior extended to graffiti abatement detective work. They tried to identify a random local tagger who used the color blue because they had found a *different* color blue circle A that they apparently saw as a threat.  -Convinced people arming themselves for the first time (many newly out trans people) that going to normal gun stores was unsafe so directed everyone to a gun store owned by a Maoist domestic abuser (AK) who now has the full legal names and addresses of many armed comrades. -Decided for queer and bipoc survivors, without informing them, whether that same domestic abuser was sufficiently "reformed" for them to be around in firearms training spaces. When the survivors found out, many were horrified and left.  -Not only did they defend and promote a gun store owned by a domestic abuser, they retaliated against the domestic abuse whistle-blower (who was also emotionally abused by AK) by launching a character assassination campaign. They painted them as a hysterical jealous ex, including to colleagues in their field. This retaliation also included spreading around hundreds of the whistle-blower's private DMs, their legal name, and photos around the Portland scene, making them feel unsafe to visit their friends in the city.
